You're probably wondering how toxins end up in your body in the first place? Well actually everything that surrounds us and everything we consume contributes to how our body functions. From unhealthy food, cosmetics and polluted air. Since our body is burdened with these toxins, we also need to cleanse it every so often.

Prepare mentally

Don’t get scared right away, detox isn’t anything spooky, but a little renunciation is still needed. That’s why it’s best to, mentally prepare yourself, before you embark on all of this. What is and what isn't allowed?

So, detox is cleansing the body of unhealthy foods. Which means you’ll have to say goodbye to coffee, alcohol, candy and junk food for a week. Okay, the first step may seem impossible to you ... so who's capable of giving it all up for the whole week ... but let's calm you down right now. You should avoid:

  • Alcohol and cigarettes
  • Milk and dairy products (it would be best to use the herbal alternatives instead - our favourite - almond milk)
  • Coffee
  • Carbs (bread, cookies, cakes, pasta, rice, barley, oats)
  • Dried fruit

You should eat:

  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Fish, lean red meat, chicken (without skin)
  • Eggs
  • Beans, chickpeas, lentils
  • Nuts, seeds (without salt and must not be fried)
  • Tea (green, white or black without caffeine)

Start your day off right

Kick-start your morning! The best way to start the day is to drink a glass of warm water or even better a cup of hot tea as soon as you get up.
