Hello, everyone! My name is Monica, I am 42 years old, I am a wife, a mother of two girls aged 9 and 12 and I work as a teacher. I wanted to share my story because maybe other women could relate and recognise themselves in my words and experiences.

Let's start from the beginning...

Until I turned 28, I was very thin (45 kg) and had no trace of belly fat or cellulite, despite not watching my diet at all (and even eating junk food often). I called myself privileged, "spoiled by nature".

Then I got married, and, initially out of the joy and convenience of having my own home and kitchen, and later out of disappointment in my career, I began eating more and gaining weight. 

In one year, my weight increased from 45 kg to 60. Then, I became pregnant... Very happy, spoiled my husband and my loved ones, I reached 72* kg.

My weight gain was the cause of a lot of pain...

After I gave birth, I started hearing comments, even from people close to me, such as "You still look 6 months pregnant" which caused me a lot of pain. Then I realised, with a shock, through seeing myself in photos that huge things, my now bigger feet, the double chin didn't feel like me, didn't make me feel good, psychologically and physically. I felt motivated to take up swimming.

The dieting part, however, I've never been able to stick to. Too rigid, too frustrating to never see even minimal results. In the end, I did manage to lose weight in my legs, but the belly fat and the bloating never went away...

Everyone around me was quick to point out that for a short time, I did manage to lose a lot of weight (this was 5 years previously, after the death of my beloved father and problems with hyperthyroidism), but that I now had a big belly again... So much pain over these insensitive comments.
